Rainy Cannes – Sunny Hearts
The lady of Lufthansa in Bucharest airport was pretty rude, although I am client of the company since she was in the high school. Did I care? No…
The old lady next to me on the plane to Düsseldorf was snoring non stop and the plane was quite small. Did I care? Not at all, I got the chance to read without stress Financial Times, The Guardian and other newspapers…
We arrived in Düsseldorf really late and I just managed to enter in the bus, transferring me to the plane. I found my brother Greg (who was coming from Thessaloniki) in the plane, after we were worried for some minutes. Did it affect me? Nope, we were both laughing after…
After the plane landed in Cannes, we were searching for some minutes my hand luggage, as the people forgot it up in the plane. Did it worry me? No…
We found our driver, who would take us to our apartment. We reached Cannes and a very polite lady appeared who entered with us too. Then, after we were… exploring the small streets of the town, we reached our final destination. A block of apartments, really old. Our “apartment” was a… room, so small that you could not even reach the toilet. The corridor leading there was blocked by a chair and a table and you needed to be a… acrobat so as to manage (yes, I am on diet, but still I didn’t reach “acrobat’s shape and abilities”).
The lady understood that there is a problem. She was really trying to serve us good. So, she called a colleague of hers, explaining the situation. She asked to talk with me and when I told her that the place I reserved has nothing to do with the place I am now (based on the photos we had seen in the site) she replied to me that she is not obliged to give me the same place, just a place to stay! The first lady called her boss, he arrived there and he solved the case immediately, apologizing for the inconvenience.
Did I lose my mood at any moment? Definitely no…
(Honestly, he is one of the most polite hosts I have ever met in all these years of travelling and I will give you full details about his company, you would be more than happy to be served by them, with full respect and seriousness. They know how to make you feel comfortable).
Then we went to the exhibition and we discovered that there are some small things in our stand that need to be improved or changed. Did I panique? No, I know I am in good hands…
Today the rain is really pouring… We had to walk for hundreds of meters, as the registration office has been moved since last year and now it is in the end of the exhibition. Was it a problem for us? No, some exercise is always welcomed, even when you carry 40 kilos, even if it is raining like this and you share one umbrella with your brother, who also carries the same weight.
I am not surprised that inside the exhibition there are several people who work for the organizer who simply do not know any answer to our questions, or they answer just in French. Do I get upset? No. Each time they say “I don’t know”, I thank them smiling…
Here we are… In Cannes…, participating as exhibitors in the no. 1 Real Estate exhibition of planet earth, in MIPIM (www.mipim.com) Can I hide it? No, I can not. I am really excited. Not because I am in this town again, or because this year my company has a stand here. Not because I feel stronger, more organized and wiser.
• I am excited because I feel really good thinking where I was just 3 – 4 years ago and where I am now.
• I am excited because this journey (and the journey is more important than the destination) continues, although my principals made me suffer many times (but helped me move on with seriousness and code of ethics, which in the end is the best, as I still believe).
• I am excited because I feel pleasure when I can work and create something big, being in the right environment.
• I am excited because I want to be tested once more by the top businessmen of the world (because having as client a serious investor is always a test and an honour for you).
• I am excited because I already have a serious number of clients who will come to visit me here, proud of my progress and happy to collaborate together. These people know better than anyone else if my words were right throughout time, if my advices and my services were correct, if we were part of their success or not.
• I am excited because this year in Cannes we, my team for which I am proud of, will be able to spread the message about Romania and its bright future for all serious investors.
• I am excited because the information, the conversations, the arguments, every single discussion, will create in the end a puzzle of new precious data for me and my people. Data which is a real treasure and will show us the steps for the near future.
I hope that you will forgive me today, as I just talk for myself. But I wanted to share these thoughts with you before I proceed the next days with everything about our work.
If you will be in Cannes these days, I will be more than happy to discuss together about our common goals. You can contact my assistant Mrs Carmen Iancu at info@more-group.eu or at +40 21 3086271 and she will arrange all the rest.
Have a wonderful day, wherever you are.
