1 year writing this blog – more than 50.000 readers so far, THANK YOU ALL!
Having a background of 15 years in the media business, with several thousands of articles in my newspaper in Greece and elsewhere, it was normal to miss writing when I came here. I had so many thoughts that I wanted to express, so many stories to share, so many opinions to state (the virus of a habit leaves us only after we die and journalism is one of viruses…). As my brothers tell me, it can be also be the fact that we kept as company a very low profile in Romania and I needed to express more loudly my approach to the market. Who knows? Maybe I am simply just another crazy guy who likes writing.
I decided to create this blog in December 2007. It was the period right after I gave an interview and said that the market will go down in 2008, exactly the opposite from what almost ALL the rest were saying back then. The chosen date for launching was 21st of January, the day I landed on this country. So far we did not advertise or seriously promote this blog, but even without promotion soon we exceeded 5.000 readers per month, in some months we had even more than 7.000. This year the plans are quite challenging and I intend to include many more new ideas.
Starting with the design of this blog, in the next weeks you will see it seriously upgraded. Also, in February you will see a new section popping up, as I will start interviewing important people from the market. From business people to bankers and from journalists to real estate consultants (from other companies than mine), all as part of my wish to provide you with more feedback and different opinions, hoping to become an upgraded source of information for all of you.
Also, we are in the last phase of preparing the book of this blog for 2008. It will contain some of the most important texts I have written here last year, also some of your comments and questions, trying to give you a small taste of what we all lived in 2008 here in Romania. I intend to have this book in annual basis, with the texts and comments of the previous year. I hope that it will be published in March (hopefully I wish to launch it at MIPIM, at Cannes, where we will have a stand again this year). There will be one edition in English, but also in Romanian and Greek. I have chosen a title, but this is not something final.Thus I would appreciate a lot to receive your proposals for the title this book should have.
