Mr Cupidon…(Congratulations Stavro and Angie!)
I remember the case, like it was yesterday. He was single, we were talking about this fact. I mentioned that I know a good girl from Timisoara, who I consider not only beautiful, but serious and with a good personality, probably a good introduction, I mentioned. He didn’t pay too much attention, as it was difficult for him to believe. But he still said that the best next step in his life would be to find a nice good girl to be with. “And noone knows what comes after…”
Then I was talking with her, she was insisting that there are not many good men out there. I was telling her that she has too much fitze and that she doesn’t know what she wants from a man, being ready to believe in easy words too fast. She rejected my arguments, claiming that she is ready to commit herself to the right person, abandoning some of her freedoms, making some compromises, as it is obligatory to do this in a serious relation. “Can it be a Greek this person?” “You Greeks are not serious, in general”.
I gave to each of them the yahoo id of the other. They didn’t contact for some days, each of them was waiting the other one to make the first step. Finally they started talking, avoiding to say big words about this new acquaintance. Soon they became a couple and after few months they started living together. At the end of last year, they took the big decision to get married, something which made me really very happy…
Tomorrow they get married at Kavala…
So, tomorrow I will be present at their wedding, at Kavala (home land of Stavros). They will have… 3 best men, all of them very good persons! But the most important for them is to be happy together for a very long time, feeling good for their important lifetime decision. For me the happiness is double, not only because I saw one of my best friends getting married with a very good girl, but also because I am… responsible for this introduction, as he always “accuses” me.
I think this is the best proof that except criticizing the bad things of this country, I am also happy to identify all the positive people and situations. And I am not complexed to promote Romania and Romanians, when I feel that someone or something deserves it.
Congratulations, Stavro. Congratulations Angie. May your life be a path full of health, happiness and wise decisions…
(PS. I use to wish to all my friends who get married “my… condolences”, but even if Stavros would understand, I guess Angie would not get the joke. So, I avoided it…)
