An “almost millionaire” and an upset collaborator…

        Was it because we had one more transaction on Monday (the seventh one this summer)? Or because the client of this transaction was very happy, spreading around very good words about how myself and my team of collaborators organized the deal and protected him? Who knows? Maybe because it was the first day of the month, yesterday, Tuesday… Important was that my mood was excellent and this is why I decided to attend this strange meeting.

A… sweet collaborator of mine
        You know, all these years in Romania, I have created plenty of friendships, while I also enlarged the list of my enemies too. But except friends and enemies, there are some people who remain in my heart as “special ones”. Like this Real Estate agent, with who I collaborate with…
          He is tremendously… sweet, having absolutely no idea about Real Estate business. I met him last year, when he proposed to me some very expensive lands in the Southern part of the city. I was very bad back then, as I rejected all the offers (which value today at 20% of the initial price). He was telling me stories which were proved to be false. But it was not his mistake, I realized it very soon. As he didn’t know (or didn’t want to know) more, he was transmitting to me whatever other “intermediars” or owners of properties were saying. Desperate to have some properties, he was accepting all what he was listening and then he was trying to sell to me all kinds of stuff, using the arguments of the owners.
        But he is not a bad person. He is honest, he admits his mistakes and also he tries to learn and to remember for the future. Ok, his properties are not the best that you can find nowadays, but I know that when I work with him, I will have all the information raw, without any tricks or lies. (You can not imagine how important value is this for a real estate agent nowadays…)

The “almost millionaire” of 2008…
          So, this lovely collaborator of mine had told me over the phone for a property in the north, with a price of 1.000.000 euro. The area was described as close to Baneasa Mall and we could build there almost 2.000 sq.m. I informed him that the price is too high and I told him that I don’t know anyone paying today more than 100 – 200 euro / built sq.m. for this area. I also informed him that I was not interested in it. He contacted me about this another 10 times. Not because he wanted to do something special with it, I understood because the owner was stressing him. Finally, we agreed that yesterday he should come to my office, so as to present to me the papers of the property.
          I arrived at my office and saw him out of it. I invited him in, but he told me he will come soon. After some minutes, my assistant informed me that “three gentlemen wait you at the big conference room”. “But I have meeting only with one”. “I don’t know…” “Ok, I guess I have bonus the other two…”. I went down and met the collaborator of mine, together with the owner of the property and a friend of his… I had in front of me an “almost millionaire” of 2008…
