(Back on writing…) Can you imagine the Romanian version of “Kitchen Nightmares”?

Was it because of the rice with prawns and… strawberries that I tasted? Or because of the good sleep I had (eventually), after so many tensed weeks? Or finally was it because of the big number of stories I have prepared and new things I feel like writing and sharing with you? I don't know the real reason, maybe it was a combination of all these. But the result is one and clear: I regained my mood to describe to you all that I live here in Romania every day and week, mood that I had partially lost over the last period.
The problem was combined together with the break of my diet. Thanks God, I found the strength to start again, after a last day of… spoiling, at Ettore Botrini's ART 02  restaurant, at Telloglio Foundation, Thessaloniki. This Greek – Italian guy is very famous in my country, Greece, being the expert chef who reorganizes restaurants (like Sir Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" in England, check thousands of videos at youtube). His food is not very expensive (about 30 – 40 euro / person, without wine), but the quality of the materials he uses and the flavors he mixes create together a spectacular result.
His show ("Nightmare in the kitchen" the translation from Greek) is one of the shows I would really like to watch in its Romanian version… Just imagine, a restaurant with a (probably) decadent owner. The business goes very bad and he invites the expert chef to save it. When he arrives there, this guy discovers (usually) a dirty kitchen, employees who are irrelevant with food preparation and serving, a bad cook and menu, wrong pricing policies and décor, awful quality of materials used, 0 respect to clients… (Does this remind you of any situation you have lived in Romania over the last years? Yeah…)
So, Ettore enters into the problem, solves most of the issues and leaves after having brought success to the restaurant (and to the pocket of the owner too). Most of the times the owner himself, or the employees complain for the changes and talk bad about him, but he doesn't care. All these occur on camera, so this post modern reality show never bores you.
Now… imagine for a second this show broadcasted in Romania. I think that one of the owners will probably kill the local star – chef, the employees will talk to him really bad, everyone will show to him that in Romania of 2009 – 2010 only a minority cares about the client and the success through work. The majority searches for ways to obtain easy money, being upset every time they didn't manage to steal their client, Romanian or foreigner (sorry, guys, but this is my opinion and I have 1.000 arguments for this).

PS. Check my coming up posts, but also go back a bit, as I will publish stories that I didn't finish…
