The Romanian version of…“William Wallace, the Braveheart”!

Every weekend: Replying to your comments

On 02.02.2010, Mr Robert D. decided to be very honest and opened his heart to me and all my friends and readers here, commenting on my post: Insolvency Law: A “small bomb”in the foundation of Romanian economy

"As William Wallace "the Braveheart" said: they can kiss our ***, the banks should crawl on their knees in front of the Romanian people. To apologize for the upfront theft through these rude commissions and the interests suited to 3rd world countries' underworld , to accept the risks assumed through their contracts ( because that's why they are paying some idiots at the "risk" departments) and then to wait for us to feel pity for them. I will be happy when they will be tricked  and they will cry at some guy's door who will invoke the personal bankruptcy law. One to say: " You know that 100.000 euros which I took from you? I don't have it and I won't have it very soon, and I want to rest about 20 years before I

go by the bank again…"

Well well well… what do we have here? The Romanian version of "William Wallace"! Wonderful… I am glad that he contacted me and shared with me his vision about business during the crisis period. I will not reply to the gentleman, it is clear that he really believes that the whole world owes to him and everyone should bend in front of his greatness. But he is not the only one who thinks like this, a serious part of the society has exactly the same approach. So, some questions rise:

  • Is there anyone who believes that this gentleman thinks like this only for the banks and not also for everything and everyone else?
  • If the banks have to deal with so many clients like him, is it sure that they will trust the rest of the society and they will be able to support the healthy thinkers?
  • When an important part of the society nowadays states clearly its intentions to trick everyone and be proud of this (using several excuses), one must be very lucky not to deal with this kind of "professionalism".
  • After 16 months of crisis, so many people continue acting based on this mentality. When will they wake up? How much more do they need to suffer? (many will reply: they will never wake up and they will also not suffer, they will simply survive by tricking others and laughing on them afterwards).

Dear Mr… "William Wallace", I am sure that millions of other Romanians will prove to you that your ideas are not the majority anymore in this country. Good luck…

Unfortunately it seems that all the business people I know think just like your “William” here.
They believe that banks are evil companies that dare to ask 10% / year for loaning them their money.

In the same time it seems that it is completely correct to sell, let’s say cookies, with 100% mark up.

People do not think that banks are actually selling money and they put a mark up on that. Just like a company that sells cookies. So then why is it correct to have 100% mark up on cookies but it is totally wrong to have 10% or 15% mark up on your own money??

Speak your mind
