Life after crisis: How will the new generation of homes be like?

Last week I gave an interview to www.imobiliare.ro and to Adriana Dragusin.  Among other Real Estate experts, I expressed my opinion for the situation today and what I expect to happen in the near future. You can find the whole text of the article here: Viaţa după criză: cum va arăta noua generaţie de locuinţe Source: www.imobiliare.ro Author: Adriana Dragusin “Life after crisis: How will the new generation of homes be like? Although there are plenty of apartments for sale, few people can really afford the majority of them. To move forward, the market needs (also) something else. [...]

25 clients desperately searching to investbut they still find “all the mistakes of the past”…

This summer was quite a busy one for my company. But except the deals we got involved in, there were also plenty of cases where we received requests from potential clients, for which we did not proceed. Mainly because we do not broker the “normal” apartments that you find in the adds, we have redrawn ourselves from this market segment (we pay attention only to properties with very low prices, or foreclosures). But as we started offering consulting to people on this field, plenty of complains came to my attention. 25 clients sharing the same agonies… I receive calls, emails or SMS by people. [...]

Models becoming Real Estate agents!

Crisis, problems, stress… so let’s try a new… “business model”! (Sunday – our relaxing day) I heard the news at the other side of Atlantic ocean and I found it really interesting! Some Real Estate agencies appeared having hired models as Real Estate brokers and consultants! Now you might ask me: “And what kind of expertise do these ladies have?” Surprisingly, many people can contradict you that they have the same with a (not big) part of typical Real Estate agents in Romania. You can check the reportage here: Can you imagine the same trend to come in Romania? If crisis continues [...]

“Miss, 39 years old, searches (only) for serious relation”

Romanian Real Estate market, Autumn 2010 After the Second World War and the civil one that followed, Greece was a poor, destroyed country. Some Greek movies, comedies, were offering few moments of happiness to people. The most popular ones were describing / criticizing the society’s habits, perceptions or prejudices. In one of these movies the most popular Greek comedian was trying to help his sister get married (Greek brothers had to wait their sisters get married first and then they “had the right to” marry as well). She was around 45 – 46, looking like 50, with good manners and many other [...]

Foreclosures in Romania6 + 6 tips to get started

(part 2, to read part 1, please press here) During the summer I had repeatedly stated that soon we enter in a new period, the one of foreclosures. Either starting with this winter or for sure during 2011 the problems of Romanian economy and Real Estate market will be transformed into something more painful: An endless list of foreclosures, for thousands of properties around the country. “What is foreclosure? “For the ones who are not experts, I call foreclosure the procedure during which a bank sells a property through auction. This property was obtained by a loan which was not paid. Usually [...]

Let us bet: How much will be the VAT next week or month? 4 questions – problems from the continuous change of taxes

Last night the Senate decided to bring VAT back to 19%, modifying the government’s decision less than 2 months ago. This is a proposal that has to be approved by the Parliament. Despite my strong desire to comment upon the news, I will not do it. This is how Romanian politicians understand their duty to their voters and the society and I will let Romanian citizens to comment. (Plus I always prefer to stay out of political disputes). But this news creates new problems in the Real Estate market plus it damages the economic environment furthermore.  Let me share with you 4 questions – problems that [...]
