Do you realize that we are living through historical times?

Yesterday I analyzed the situation with Greece for you.

But as you may have noticed, Greece is not the main problem, it is just used as an excuse for the speculators to attack. This became more clear on Monday, when we experienced an aggressive meltdown in the European stocks, especially the ones belonging to the banks.

Christine Lagarde, the new head of IMF, declared a few days ago that the European banks might need more than 200 billion Euro in order to clean up their balance sheets (some people consider this figure as “very optimistic”). Chancellor Merkel explained that a country’s exit from the Euro zone would cause major unexpected consequences and many other analysts worry about our economic future (with Dr Roubini being the leader of them).

Shares plunged due to the investors’ fear that the problems are much bigger than they tell us, plus the Greek problem might trigger an “economic hurricane”. But this is not all. This is the perfect moment for all the international speculators to gamble against Europe and its banks, sending the prices down and filling their pockets with billions of Euro.

Ex Chancellor Schroeder announced that Europe has to integrate, becoming the “United States of Europe”, adding his voice to many others.

Does all this look normal to you? I think that starting with September we will watch the formation of a new world. I am 100% sure that until June of next year (at most) we will have a completely different geopolitical situation in Europe.

Is this good or bad for us, in Romania? I doubt if this is bad (a united Europe will probably benefit the countries with a weak and incapable political class). We just need to wait and see how good it may turn out to be.

One thing is for sure. We should sit down and watch this story carefully; it will definitely change our lives.
