Hello to everyone. Today I decided to do something different. Not to share with you my view on a certain topic, but my opinion on the actual news, as we hear it in Romania. In case you like it, we can do it more often as well, adding to it your approach.

«Romania has a fiscal risk which is 2 times smaller than the Greek one»

Comment: This is correct. I have been talking to many (important) people lately and they describe Romania as one of the best locations in Europe. Why? “Because it is not member of the Eurozone” or “because the debt is under control”, plus many other reasons. A top banker even told me: “Who could believe that by doing business in Romania you would assume fewer risks than in Greece, Italy and other major European countries?”

Comment: I have written about this issue in the past. Please find my opinions here:

Comment: I have in my hands the list with the water management projects that will be auctioned in Romania over the following 2 years frame. I think that any serious company in the world that has the know-how, should be interested in this business, as the country needs to upgrade fast to European standards. An important upgrade which is not easily visible to people, but it will improve their lives and the environment around them.

“A 5.000 sq.m. land located at Republica area bought for 90 Euro / sq.m.”

Comment: As always, we have transactions only when the price is low enough, in order to adjust to the investor’s expectations. Republica area is expected to attract more investments for industrial and office (back office) uses, having the major advantage that it is located next to a metro station. As the zone is expected to be clear of legal problems soon (for the ones who don’t know, there were many litigations in the past) it has growth potential in the years to come.

“The apartment building that brings savings of 13.000 Euro / year for each owner has been released for the first time in Romania”

Comment: “Green” building is a difficult issue. Not only for Romania, but all around Europe. We do appreciate the pioneers who try to implement “green” projects, but the first problem we need to resolve is the education of the population. This news is important in order for us to understand that “green” pays back in the long run. A project closer to the city center and that would use “green” building procedures would probably attract the investors’ interest, due to the lower costs of maintenance, a hidden problem for everyone in the modern world today.
