The last chance for Greece?

Early this morning the European summit decided on a solution regarding the Greek debt crisis. I am sure that you are aware of this and what exactly it contains. If you want to read my questions on this agreement, you can check here.

Lots of people are asking me if this is a good decision or not. I don’t think it’s either good or bad. I consider it FORCED. If you make 1.000 mistakes, you end up without options and someone else will decide your future. This is what happened to Greece: “The best possible solution, considering the circumstances”. It is worse than the July’s deal, but it is what it is.

Right now we need to check the details of this agreement carefully, as there will be many small issues that need to be defined. Each of them might change the initial announcement more than you can imagine.

But to me, a Greek, this “solution” represents something else. It looks like the last chance for Greece to change its future. Europeans have sent Greece towards the last step, at the end of the ladder. The next step could only be the exit from Eurozone and the return to the Greece of the ‘50s or ‘60s.

It is not a discussion of “what we like”. It is just the decision of what we have to do. If we don’t want to, we have a clear view of the consequences.

PS. Romania will definitely be influenced by the Greek problem. But without knowing the details of the agreement, we cannot identify the collateral damages to other countries…
