The “investment clock” of CEE countries As many major European investors explain, the previous Real Estate expansion on the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) was clockwise: It started from Poland and then Czech Republic followed. Slovakia and Hungary were the next ones to join the party. Every phase of this “Real Estate invasion” lasted for several years, as the “clock” was moving as well. Before the investors to enter in a new market, they had previously made sure that they had established a solid basis on the previous country. Eventually in 2004 – 2006 Romania’s and Bulgaria’s turn arrived as well. Several [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]MIPIM 2010, Lesson no. 1:World market: Don’t expect much from 2010, Better days to come in 2011
Hello from Cannes. As you read these lines I am probably out of the exhibition, having finished from there and enjoying some sun before I fly back to Bucharest tonight. Between you and me, half of the visitors and participants left already from Thursday night. The other half are still here, but very few come to the Palais de Festivals during Friday. Croisette Boulevard, Monte Carlo, Monaco, or their flight back home capture their attention. Last night MIPIM Awards were awarded too, so there is nothing more to expect from this exhibition for this year. MIPIM: Quiet and peaceful… down by 25% Maybe [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]At Cannes for MIPIM 2010What do the international investors think about Romania?
Mipim 2010 exclusive photos coverage The plane from Bucharest to Rome and then Nice was not full. People are not smiling and don’t look eager to arrive at Cannes, our destination. The Romanian “community” is not exactly what one could describe as “loud”. Just one residential developer (Panhol group) with future projects. Also one design and construction firm (Sommering). There is no architectural firm exhibiting with a stand. Thank God there are still several representatives of multinational companies who join their common stands together with their colleagues from all around the world. But as [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Memories from Cannes (2008)
(All time classic) My company MORE Real Estate Services proudly represented Romania during MIPIM 2008. MIPIM, the no.1 Real Estate exhibition worldwide, took place at Cannes from 11th to 15th of March. There were plenty of Romanian companies there (8) plus the municipality of Bucharest had its own stand, promoting the city and the country in general. Overall Sometimes it was difficult to speak with everyone who was interested in Romania! More than 145 meeting reports, many other people who left unhappy, a real… fest! The interest for Romania was very strong, but I doubt if it will remain [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Memories from MAPIC 2009…Welcome to… 2011!
Let me have a necessary break during my forecast for what is coming up during 2010. Since Wednesday I am at Cannes, where I participate at MAPIC. For the ones who are not familiar, MAPIC is the no.1 Real Estate exhibition for retail. 1.400 retailers, tens of Malls and Retail Parks, developers and all sorts of service providers create a “must attend” event, if you want to know what is coming up during the next year. As my company, MORE Real Estate Services, is focused (among others)on Retail and Commercial segments, it was obvious that I should be here too. There was not so much to say [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Munich, here we come!
Hello from Munich! Yesterday was a big night for my country, Greece, as we had elections and a new government was elected. In the same time, I had been organizing another 7 political campaigns and the results were very good. But now all these belong to history. Yesterday evening I flied to Munich, so as to be present today at EXPO REAL, where my Romanian company, MORE Real Estate Services, is the only brokerage and consulting company from Romania which participates here with a stand. We are not alone though, but together with “Proiect Bucuresti”, a leading architectural firm from Romania. [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Today in Vienna: My speech at the panel discussion for Romania
Hello from cloudy – soon to be raining, Vienna. I hope you are fine, wherever you are. Here in REAL VIENNA most people definitely don’t feel fine. Not a lot of visitors, not a lot of stands… I hope that this second day will be much better than the first one. Even if the number of people is very limited, I already had 4 excellent meetings yesterday, I could describe them very juicy. More and more people are open to hear, to discuss, to network and finally to collaborate. I had also a funny case, by a rude lady and a gentleman, who almost kicked me out from their company’s stand (using very [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Guten Tag aus Wien!
Hello from sunny Vienna! Last night I finished my meetings around 23.00, today I woke up at 04.15, changed two planes and arrived at Vienna around 10.30 (local time). The weather is wonderful here and now that you read these lines I am already inside REAL VIENNA, the number 1 Real Estate exhibition of Austria. Today I will have a full schedule of meetings with some of the top market leader of the country (and not only) and tomorrow I will be speaker in the panel for Romania, at 14.15. I was supposed to have a stand in this exhibition, as I had booked it. But few months ago, I decided to postpone [...]

Few days ago, on Tuesday, I had presented to you an interview of Mr Gavin Ryan, an expert in Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds. As far as I understood from your feedback, this subject was really interesting for you, as the official information about this segment is really limited. This is why I decided to address to Mr Ryan again, summing some of your questions and adding some new ones. This domain is really interesting and I think that it worths to know ...
