\n\tEXPO REAL has finished, but before we close the discussion about it, I think that it would be interesting to share some more details.\n<\/p>\n
\n\t1. The most “sought after” person coming from Romania<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tDon’t think too much. It was by far Troy Javaher<\/strong>, the charismatic CEO of Jones Lang Lasalle. After the merger with King Sturge, lots of people wanted to meet him, find out the future plans of the company for Romania, discuss projects etc.\n<\/p>\n \n\t2. EXPO REAL: An impressive fair<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tMany friends of mine compare it with 2007, when it was larger. But taking into consideration the actual crisis, it is by far the largest of its kind in Europe. The German authorities created some amazing stands and the level of professionalism was high. (If it was not so “focused on Germany”, it might reach the level of MIPIM as in the future).\n<\/p>\n \n\t3. EXPO REAL: An exhibition for wealthy companies<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tHuge impressive stands, tens of thousands of portions of food, served throughout the day, endless beverages and champagne, prototype cars to try, games to play and win souvenirs, hundreds of different small “protocol presents”. But also: Special printed reports and, above all, the highest standards of professionalism. Everything in order to tempt a client to come in and discuss his investment. This is not a place for amateurs…\n<\/p>\n \n\t4. Tens of discussion panels. Nothing about Romania, everything (indirectly) about Greece<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tRomania was absent in the discussion panels of EXPO REAL. Despite the tens of panels for almost any topic you may imagine, Romania was excluded from from all of them. Even “Central and Eastern Europe” panel… stopped at Hungary. On the other hand, Greece was mentioned everywhere. Almost in all panels there was someone who spoke about “the necessity to clear the situation of Greece, in order for us to see the future without the instability of today”.\n<\/p>\n \n\t5. Almost the same of number of Romanians and foreigners promoting Romania<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n \n\tI counted more than 30 professionals who were promoting Romania during EXPO REAL. The figure is relatively small, compared to more than 120 (MIPIM 2008), but it is rather good, comparing to… less than 10 (EXPO REAL 2009). Many CEOs of companies were there, including Troy, Christopher Shonn, Horatiu Florescu etc. If you would try to balance this participation, you would count an equal number of Romanians and foreigners present there.\n<\/p>\n
