Bravo to the 20.000 students who succeeded in the Baccalaureate exams. My respect also to the ones who studied and did not reach their target this time, the future is theirs. I feel bad for the ones who “saw the subjects and left after a few minutes” plus the ones who were… “intimidated by the CCTV cameras”. They don’t know how big the mistake they made is. I hope they will wake up soon and will not discover it after 5 – 10 years, when it will probably be too late.

Comment of the day: The Highway to Constanta
Today CNADNR awarded the finalization of the highway to Constanta to Astaldi and Max Boegl. 20 km will cost 120 million Euro and it is supposed to be ready during 2012. I hope that this will be the beginning of many more tenders and projects to be finalized, Romania has an enormous need of new highways…

If you watch TV at all or read the international press, you might get the impression that Greece is the battle ground for a civil war. Protesters colliding with the police, fires, “upset” people etc. Yes, this has happened a few times. But, realistically, we’re only talking about the center of Athens, in one square. It’ s like having a demonstration and fires in Piata Victoriei, while in Piata Unirii people go on with their daily business, without having been involved. Certainly the country has major problems, but that’s a far cry from earning a title of a dangerous [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]The “safe bet” of H&M – A proof that serious projects have ground to grow in Romania
This month the Romanian fashion retail market changes for good. The Swedish giant H&M opens its first two stores this week, after a careful campaign and a serious investment. The majority of my Romanian friends are excited about the news and I am sure that the company will reach record numbers in visitors and sales during the upcoming weekend. Why it is important for Romania H&M is the first major retailer who “bets in Romania” during 2011. They don’t just open a store here, but they have reserved 6 and probably another 4! So, we talk about a major investment, taken [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Stop playing with the investors! There is no reason for apartment prices to rise due to “Prima Casa III”
Hello and have a nice week everyone. Last week we started listening news regarding “Prima Casa III” and the fact that its funds are running out. It was announced that the daily number of applications rose from 40 to 70 – 80 and that the available amount of 200 million Euro will finish during the following weeks. What is interesting with this news is that it is combined with “analyses by experts” who claim that “this fact will rise the prices of apartments”. Nothing less true than this! Some people continue trying to play with the investors! I personally [...]

Hello to everyone. It seems that my article about the consequences of the incident at Fukushima nuclear reactors attracted the interest of many thousands of you, plus several comments as well (to read it again, please press here). I have approved all of them, despite the fact that I disagree with almost all that is stated there (this is the meaning of democracy and freedom of speech after all) Today I would like to continue on this issue, writing to you my point of view regarding 9 approaches that I received as comments (and I consider wrong). “Nuclear energy is definitely safe in our [...]
[relevant-to-adsense]Don’t search only for the… “Elton John of properties”! “Paula Seling” and others are good too! Just avoid… “Kamelia” etc
Elton John’s concert, a lifetime experience Last Saturday will remain in my mind forever. I was at Piata Constitutiei and had the luck to experience the concert of Sir Elton John. For 2,5 hours this incredible artist spread his spell throughout the lucky 12.000 people who were present. Playing his piano and singing simultaneously, he showed what it means to be “great”. No arrogance, no “pretending”, no attempt to impress, no… “show”. Just amazing music by him and his band. A rare “diamond” of art… Exception which simply confirms the rule Yes, Elton is a brilliant artist. But we don’t [...]

Few days ago, on Tuesday, I had presented to you an interview of Mr Gavin Ryan, an expert in Private Equity and Venture Capital Funds. As far as I understood from your feedback, this subject was really interesting for you, as the official information about this segment is really limited. This is why I decided to address to Mr Ryan again, summing some of your questions and adding some new ones. This domain is really interesting and I think that it worths to know ...
