Q: I want to buy an apartment in Iasi. What should I know before buying it since I grew up in the country and don’t really know? Thank you to anyone that will offer assistance.

A: I wrote an entire book about this! Tens of answers regarding all the aspects that you should know before buying a property. I apologize but I can’t reproduce everything here!

A few advices:

– The lowest price is not always the best

– Take into account the cost of the renovations

– Buy what you need, not what others tell you is best (FOR THEM) to buy

– Be patient, it’s going to take some time before you find something that matches what you are looking for

– Be ready to negotiate directly with the owner. Don’t agree to negotiate (or even tell him the price) with any “taxi driver” that tell you “tell me what you want to pay in order to inform the owner”. Ask and insist to meet the owner directly.
